JRU seeks share of lead vs Batangas
MANILA, Philippines – Jose Rizal U guns for its second straight win and a share of the early lead as it clashes with Batangas today in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Fresh from their 75-64 victory over the Malaysian squad Blustar Dragons last Tuesday, the Heavy Bombers face the Batangas side at 3 p.m., looking to join the AMA Online Education Titans on top of the 10-team field.
But Batangas is out to bounce back from a six-point setback to the Titans last week where it nearly spoiled the 42-point explosion of Jeron Teng.
The Batangas five hopes to draw solid games from Joseph Sedurifa, Carlo Fortu and CJ Isit, who combined for 53 points the first time out.
The Bombers, on the other hand, are expected to pin their hopes on Teytey Teodoro, who came away with 20 points, and Jhaps Bautista, who added 18 markers in their 11-point romp over the Dragons.
Meanwhile, Victoria Sports-MLQU and Wangs Basketball make their debut at 5 p.m. with the former parading the likes of Ryusei Koga, Zach Nicholls and Fil-Am Robert Herndon and the latter to lean on Allen Enriquez, Rey Publico and Mark Juruena.
