Lantion takes overall plum; Chan wins car

MANILA, Philippines - Ralph Lantion copped overall honors but Mark Chan stole the show with a hole-in-one in the recent 16th President’s Cup at the West course of the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong.

Lantion posted a net score of 70.6 on a gross of 73 in the Modified Double Peoria scoring to show up the field of 288 members and guests in the 18-hole event honoring club president Sen. JV Ejercito.

Chan, however, went home with the biggest prize when he aced the 150-yard 8th hole with a Callaway Apex 7-iron and Titleist Pro-V1x ball that won him a brand-new Toyota Vios.

Also emergjng as champions in the men’s division were Liberato Tan in Group 1, Benedict Chan in Group 2, Carlo Lopez in Group 3 and Robert Go in seniors play. Making up the ladies winners were Leana Carmona in Group 1 and Charrie Limin Group 2. Orly Trinidad was the guest division winner.

The Vios was one of the hole-in-one prizes that included a Peugeot 301, a Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Ford Fiesta.
