UP gains Martin Cup semis

MANILA, Philippines - Ibrahim Outtara of Mali scored on a putback in the last two seconds, lifting UP to a 72-71 win over CEU-A and into the semifinals of the 14th Fr. Martin Cup Division 2 basketball tournament at San Beda gym in Mendiola last Sunday.

Outtara’s heroics came after Rob Ricafort’s miss as the Fighting Maroons snared the victory, their seventh straight to clinch the last Final Four berth.

San Beda-A, FEU and San Beda-B took the first three semis seats by beating their respective rivals in contrasting fashions.
