MANILA, Philippines - The Defense and Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) holds Part II of its 24th edition starting Thursday (Nov. 10) with Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald de la Rosa invited as guest of honor and speaker for the opening ceremonies at the Megatrade Hall, Building B, at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
De la Rosa also led the opening the DSAS Part 1 last July where he instructed the PNP-FEO to facilitate the swift processing time of applications for the License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and firearms registration.
The PNP chief is expected to discuss the significant reforms undertaken by Dulag and Binag in the PNP-FEO that eventually encouraged firearms owners to apply for LTOPF and renew their gun license in the country’s premier and longest running gun show.
The program starts at 10 a.m. with thousands of gun owners and enthusiasts expected to visit the five-day event which also features the latest array of firearms, ammunition, and shooting paraphernalia.
De la Rosa will be accompanied by top PNP officials, including those from the Civil Security Group (CSG) under P/Chief Supt. Federico Dulay Jr. and Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) led by P/Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorn Binag, when he leads the opening of the DSAS for the second time this year.
This year’s theme is “Top Shots: Celebrating generations of world-class Filipino shooters.”
