MANILA, Philippines – Undefeated prospect Jessie Magdaleno is looking to take Nonito Donaire Jr. out in the later rounds when he challenges the WBO super bantamweight champion on November 5.

The 24-year-old Magdaleno (23-0, with 17 KOs) shared his thoughts about the biggest fight of his career during a recent media workout at the Jack Rabbit Boxing Club in Long Beach, California.

He previously said he’s wary of Donaire’s trademark left hook, and again insisted that he is prepared to neutralize it come fight night.

“I am going against Nonito who is smart in the ring, has a dangerous left hook I must deal with,” said Magdaleno.

Exactly how does he plan to neutralize Donaire’s killer left hook?

“A real good hard shot to the body will take away some of his left hook power. And once he really opens up it's better for me to get in big punches,” the challenger explained.

Donaire will defend his title against Magdaleno as the co-main event of the showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Jessie Vargas at the Thomas & Mack center in Las Vegas.

It’s the opportunity of a lifetime for Magdaleno, who said he has long been wishing to slug it out with Donaire.

He sees the champion slowing down after five rounds.

“He (Donaire) will be strong for about five rounds then there will be a fade and we will take over,” said Magdaleno.

“He's a tough competitor for sure. But this is my dream fight, not his.”
