MANILA, Philippines -- Reigning back-to-back PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo went down with a suspected MCL or worse, ACL injury at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday night.

Fajardo suffered the injury in a rebound battle against Rain or Shine enforcer Jireh Ibañes during the third quarter of Game 6 in their semifinals series. He was seen clutching his knee and in excruciating pain when he fell down after Ibañes tried to box him out for a rebound.

The 6-foot-10 Fajardo later told Sports5 courtside reporter Rizza Diaz that he heard something popped.

The Cebuano big man was later taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Global City, Taguig for an MRI test.
