WATCH: Aldo, McGregor almost come to blows in UFC 194 weigh-in
MANILA, Philippines -- In what is being billed as one of the biggest title fights in the UFC history, Irish challenger Conor McGregor and defending UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo of Brazil nearly came to blows in the official weigh-in on Saturday (Manila time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Both fighters tipped the scale at 145 lbs and the moment they faced off, the animosity between them are very evident.
"I'm sick of talking about Jose. I visualize and I look at his facial features and I know that the soft part of his face won't be able to take my shots. Tomorrow night, I will bring that gold home for Ireland once again," said McGregor to the roaring approval of the large Irish crowd that showed up on the eve of the fight.
The Brazilian champion also had enough of McGregor's verbal assaults in the past weeks leading up to the fight night.
"I don't care what he has to say. The thing is I'm coming in tomorrow night and I'm going to be the champion," said Aldo through interpreter.
The UFC 194 will also feature middleweight champion Chris Weidman and top contender Luke Rockhold, who both hit the scales at identical 185 lbs.
Urijah Faber, who headlined the UFC Fight Night in Manila earlier this year, will Frankie Saenz in one of the four preliminary bouts.
