Guiao, UAAP stars to grace Growee camp

MANILA, Philippines - Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao and UAAP MVP Kiefer Ravena will be on hand in the Growee basketball camp to teach and provide inspiration for kids who want to become great basketball players someday.

Organized by Trizach Events and Ry3byrs Sports  headed by coach Randy Alcantara, Growee Basketball Camp gathered over 200 participants in the first two legs where they rubbed elbows with Gilas Pilipinas players Japeth Aguilar of Barangay Ginebra and Larry Fonacier of Talk N Text.

``Besides developing more players, one of our main goals is to encourage young people to engage in sports activities and improve their physical and mental ability rather than spend much time tinkering with their gadgets,’’ said Alcantara, the camp director who also calls the shots for the Mapua Red Robins in the NCAA.

Alcantara said winners of the Growee 3x3 tournament in the first two legs held at Sta. Lucia Mall last Oct. 30 and on Nov. 28 will be bracketed according to age to compete in a tournament in December at Sta Lucia Mall.

Also backing the camp are il Centro, Sta. Lucia Mall, the largest mall in Metro East , Accel, Sta Lucia Healthcare, Wilson, Tobys, Spenco Lifetime Rockman, Prulike Uk and Gerry’s Grill; Giligan’s and Olympic Village Sta Lucia Branch.

According to Alcantara, participants will only have to bring an empty 250ml bottle of Growee, and registration for the camp open for kids 12 years old and below is free. Just like the first camp, Trizach  said this will be  another memorable endeavor for the kids who will have a chance to meet their favorite PBA and UAAP players  who will attend the camp as surprise guests.
