6 p.m. – Kama Motors vs Foton
MANILA, Philippines - Kama Motors leaned on ex-pros JR Cawaling and Rudy Lingganay as it rallied to edge estwhile leader Jumbo Plastic, 80-78, and post its first back-to-back wins in the PCBL Founders Cup at the JCSGO gym late Tuesday night.
Kama Motors scored 16 unanswered points to turn a 61-68 deficit into nine-point lead then held on to thwart Jumbo Plastic’s own fightback in the stretch and complete its come-from-behind win.
Cawaling, a former member of PBA grand slam champions San Mig Coffee Mixers who also played for Blackwater and Kia, hit four triples on the way to an 18-point output while Roider Cabrera and Lingganay backed him up with 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Kama Motors, which evened its card to 4-4 card.
Jumbo Plastic dropped to joint second with Sta. Lucia Realty at 5-3.
Jumbo Plastic actually struck back to pull within one with 13 seconds left but Lingganay split his charities and Kama Motors foiled Jumbo Plastic’s make-or-break play to pound out the win.
Foton, with Ed Rivera firing 25 points, also fought back to beat Supremo Lex, 96-92, to boost its playoff bid.
