Wally, Bacyadan gain World wushu final

MANILA, Philippines - Divine Wally of Baguio City and Hergie Bacyadan of Kalinga Apayao surged to the finals of the ongoing biennial 13th World Wushu Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Wally, 19, a product of the 2012 Philippine National Games, outclassed Korean Bokyeong Byeon in a 52-kg semifinal match, while Bacyadan, 21, outpointed Egyptian Walaa Mossa in a 65kg round-of-four tussle.

Wally, 2013 SEA Games and Asian Junior Championships silver medalist who had already bettered the bronze medal finish of Davao City’s Evita Zamora, will clash with Vietnamese Luan Thi Hoang for the gold.

Bacyadan will go up against Iranian Sharbano Manyouran Semiromi in her quest for the top plum.

Interestingly, the current titleholders in the 52kg is a Vietnamese and the 65kg an Iranian.
