AKCUPI’s all-breed dog show slated

MANILA, Philippines – The Asian Kennel Club Union of the Philippines, Inc. (AKCUPI) will hold its 67th, 68th and 69th All Breed Championship Dog Shows on Nov. 29 at the People’s Village of Tiendesitas en Frontera Verde, Ortigas Ave. cor. E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. (C-5), Pasig City.

International all-breed dog show judges Adrian Tey of Malaysia, Ed Cruz and Jester Jo Ong Chuan of the Philippines will adjudicate the shows, also held as a pre-Christmas treat to all dog lovers, which will start at 1 p.m.

Tey, a graduate of Middlesex University in London, is a management consultant and currently a partner with a European consulting firm in Kuala Lumpur. 

Cruz, the longest-serving director of the Philippine Canine Club, Inc. (PCCI) and the current AKCUPI vice president, served as PCCI president in 2001 and 2005 and chaired the Corporate Show Committee.

Ong Chuan, who adjudicated international dog shows in China, South Korea, Myanmar, Malaysia and Hong Kong, heads the American Cocker Spaniel Club of the Philippines (ACSCP) and the Metropolitan Manila Kennel Club Inc., both AKCUPI affiliates.

The judges will have their own set of winners in the Best Baby Puppy, Best Philippine-born and Best in Show categories from seven breed groupings – toy, sporting, hound, terrier, non-sporting, working and herding.
