Pacman pulls out of ABL

Joey Villar - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s Powervit Pilipinas Aguilas in the Asean Basketball League has been replaced by Pilipinas MX3 Kings, owned by SportsLegends Managers, Inc.  under businessman Dick Balajadia.

As new owner, Balajadia also revamped the squad and appointed Jean Alabanza as team manager and ex-PBA star Chito Loyzaga as team consultant.

Alabanza is a former Ateneo standout who managed Boracay Rum in the PBA D-League and Pharex in the defunct Phl Basketball League.

This is the third time the franchise changed its name. It was originally called Mindanao Aguilas before Pacquiao’s group acquired the franchise.

The MX3 Kings are spearheaded by former PBA Best Import Arizona Reid and Alli Austria and Jeramy King and ex-pros Carlo Sharma, Sunday Salvacion and Jondan Salvador.
