Ateneo Challenge Cup slated at Orchard GCC

MANILA, Philippines - The Ateneo Golf Foundation, in partnership with Batch 1990, will co-host the 2015 Ateneo Challenge Cup tomorrow at the Palmer and Player courses of the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

The one-day event sponsored by YSA Group is held to raise funds for both the AGF, headed by Ray Panlilio, and the Tulong Dunong Foundation, which help deserving scholars with their chosen fields.

A Toyota Wigo and a set of Mizuno JPx irons will be staked as hole-in-one prizes, according to co-organizer and Batch 1990 president TJ Benitez.

A total of 244 participants will see action with 144 playing at Palmer and the rest at the Player with 32 trophies up for grabs.

There will be six titles each for the overall champions, decade 90s, 80s, 70s and 60 and below, and two in the lowest gross team competition.

Backing the 18-hole tournament are Meralco, Gatorade, City of Dreams, Tagaytay Highlands, Mahindra Motors, Pascual Lab, Cebu Pacific, Goldilocks, Minola, Microtel, Luisita Golf Club, Baguio Country Club and Toyota.
