MANILA, Philippines -- Batang Gilas made history on Tuesday night when they ended the unbeaten run of mighty China in the FIBA Asia U16 Championship with an epic come-from-behind 78-72 win at Britama Arena in Indonesia.
Batang Gilas unleashed a furious 11-0 windup to climb back from a 67-72 hole to score the tournament's biggest upset and deal China its first loss in the history of the Asian youth championship.
China was heavily favored entering the game having won 33 straight games and claimed the tournament's first three titles.
