Lady Maroons to fuel Final 4 bid vs Tigresses
MANILA, Philippines - UP takes on UST today, seeking to stretch its win run to four while early semifinalist NU and La Salle try to firm up their 1-2 posts in the UAAP Season 78 women’s basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle gym in QC.
The Lady Maroons and the Tigresses clash in the 9 a.m. opener of another four-game bill that also features the back-to-back title seeking Lady Bulldogs, who will be gunning for their 11th win in row against the Lady Eagles at 11 a.m.
The second-runner Lady Archers, on the other hand, battle the Adamson U Lady Falcons at 3 p.m., also eyeing to extend their win streak to 10.
UE and FEU clash, meanwhile, at 1 p.m.
Today’s heavy schedule was supposed to be played last Oct. 18 but was called off due to typhoon “Lando”. There were no games last weekend for a Halloween break.
Focus will be on UP, which has racked up three straight games after a 25-game losing skid which spanned for three seasons.
Tied with the Lady Falcons at sixth at 3-7, the Lady Maroons are trailing joint fourth placers Lady Eagles and Lady Warriors (4-6) by just a game in the race for the last semis berth.
