Hawks top Spurs, remain perfect in preseason

ATLANTA – Jeff Teague scored 19 points and the Hawks remained perfect in the preseason, beating the San Antonio Spurs 100-86 Wednesday night (Thursday in Manila) in Atlanta's first home game since the Eastern Conference final.

The Hawks (3-0) took control with an 11-0 spurt late in the third quarter, handing the winless Spurs their third straight defeat.

SPURS: LaMarcus Aldridge (back spasms) did not play. Matt Bonner started in his place. Kawhi Leonard scored a game-high 20 points.

HAWKS: Thabo Sefolosha played his first game since April, when his right leg was broken in an encounter with New York police. He had 5 points in 8 minutes.

STAR WATCH: 39-year-old Tim Duncan played only 13 minutes for the Spurs, scoring 4 points. He didn't return after halftime.

UP NEXT: The Spurs are back home Sunday (next Monday in Manila) to host the Detroit Pistons. The Hawks travel to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Friday (this Saturday in Manila).
