Lady Tams tame Lady Tigresses, settle for 3rd

MANILA, Philippines -- Far Eastern University trounced Santo Tomas, 25-16, 25-23, 25-17, Saturday to sweep its best-of-three showdown for third place in the Shakey's V-League Season 12-Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan City. 

Guest players Jovelyn and Honey Royce Tubino delivered the severest of blows as the two Army women combined for a whopping 24 kills and finished with 15 and 12 hits, respectively.

Bernadeth Pons provided the back up by scattering 12 herself while team captain Mary Remy Joy Palma chipped in eight including three on blocks.

The third place turned out a soothing balm for the hurting Lady Tams as they failed to successfully defend the title they win last year after they were swept by the National U Lady Bulldogs in the semis two weeks ago.
