UNTV cup: AFP routs MMDA

MANILA, Philippines - Season 2 champion Armed Forces of the Philippines demolished Metro Manila Development Authority, 83-66, to notch its second straight win in the fourth UNTV Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig recently.

Jeffrey Quiambao and former PBA player Boyet Bautista led AFP’s big charge in the second quarter that saw them outscore the Blackwolves, 22-14, for a commanding 45-26 halftime lead.

The Blackwolves, who stunned defending champion Judiciary in the opener, fought back in third but the Cavaliers countered with huge baskets before sustaining their form to pull away in their Group B showdown.
