FCAAF cagefest kicks off today

MANILA, Philippines - Multi-titled Chiang Kai Shek College opens defense of its high school and 11-under division titles as the Molten presents 26th Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) Basketball Championships gets going today at the Chiang Kai Shek College gym in Manila.

Out to foil Chiang Kai Shek College’s bid in the premier Division A are Hope Christian High School, St. Stephen’s High School and St. Jude Catholic School.

Handled by Goldwin Monteverde, the Blue Dragons defeated the Bernard Yang-mentored Hope Christian High School last year to firm up their claim as one of the country’s top high school teams.

Other squads in Division A are Manila Patriotic School, Philippine Cultural College, Philippine Chung Hwa School and St. Peter Apostle School.

Fourteen teams are taking part in Division B with Grace Christian College leading Group B 1 and Uno High School in Group B 2.

Officials of the league, led by president Alex Yap and vice presidents William Sy, Eddie Chua, William Castro, Tai Kuo An, James Tiu, Orlando Bongat and Siu TYi Lie Teng San, are expected to grace the opening ceremony.

Also in Group B1 are PACE Academy, Paco Citizen Academy Foundation, Philippine Pasay Chung Hua Academy, Northern Rizal Yorklin School, Philadelphia Chen Kuang High School while teams out to challenge Uno High’s supremacy are Philippine Sun Yat Sen, MGC New Life Christian Academy, Phil. Institute of Quezon City, St. Mary’s Angels College of Valenzuela, Phil. Academy of Sakya and Makati Hope Christian School.,

Aside from CKSC and St. Jude, also taking part in the 11-under division are PCC, PACE Academy, St. Stephens, Uno High, MGC New Life Christian Academy, Grace Christian College, St. Peter Apostle School, Philadelphia High and Jubilee Christian Academy.
