Elesterio leads MOS awardees in PSL swim

MANILA, Philippines - Record-breaker Bernice Arabella Elesterio led the list of Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) awardees in the 81st Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series-Davao Swim Meet held at the Tagum City Sports Complex.

Elesterio submitted one minute, 21.13 seconds to claim the girls’ 13-14 100m breaststroke gold medal. She smashed the 1:23.31 old mark of former Diliman Preparatory School standout Portia Kate Doragos.

Overall, Elesterio garnered 50 points to pocket the MOS trophy in her age group.

Sharing the limelight was Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Parañaque standout Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh, a multi-gold medalist in many international competitions, who earned 56 points to win the girls’ 9-10 years MOS award.

The other MOS winners were Heather White (girls’ 7-8, 43 points), Yuan Gabriel Taojo (boys’ 7-8, 43 points), Danielle Mabalod (girls 6-under, 40 points), Eryk John Omandan (boys’ 9-10, 45 points), Zhakira Eybriel Idulsa (girls’ 11-12, 47 points), John Marion Albano (boys’ 11-12, 35 points), Josiah Paul Ozano (boys’ 13-14, 40 points), Bea Chyll Amparo (girls’ 15-16, 37 points), Christian Paul Anor (boys’ 15-16, 51 points), Mae Pajarito (girls’ 17-over, 36 points) and Kierl Suazo (boys’ 17-over, 44 points).

The Tagum Green Dolphins claimed the overall title while the PSL swimmers and the Barracuda Swim Team settled for second and third, respectively.

The PSL also named Mindanao tankers Christian Tan, Rudolf John Rasay, Asha Segotier and Michael Davis Samaniego to the 2015 Singapore Midget Swimming Championship scheduled next month in Singapore.
