Tugade adds two more titles in Head netfest

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Vince Tugade racked up another two-title romp while Patricia Velez also posted twin victories in the girls’ side of the Globe 17th Head Graphene XT Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit at the Capitol Tennis Courts in Isulan Governor’s Palace in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat recently.

Tugade beat Klyde Lagarde twice, scoring a 6-1, 6-2 romp for the boys’ 16-under crown before hacking out a tough 7-5, 6-4 decision in the 14-U finals as he duplicated his feat in the Davao City leg last week.

Velez later matched that feat as she defeated Yzyl Domingo, 6-0, 6-2, to nail the 18-U plum before routing Joyce Sapitanan, 6-0, 6-0, for the 16-U diadem in the annual age-group meet organized by Dynamic Sports.

In other results, Jarrel Edanga ripped Christian Villarin, 6-3, 6-4, for the boys’ 18-U crown; Lady Lee Cagadas swept Angel Cagadas, 6-4, 6-4, for the girls’ 14-U title; Stephanie Delfin blanked Darlin Liston, 6-0, 6-0, for the girls’ 12-U diadem; John David Velez dominated Angelo Selmar, 6-2, 6-1, for boys’ 12-U plum; and Ralph Adrian Selmar thwarted Royce Sapitanan, 7-6, 6-3, for 10-unisex title.

Other backers of the event were Chris Sports, Head ATP Tennis Balls, Graphene XT, Toalson, the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Tennis Association while the Isulan leg was supported by ex-Gov. Datu Pax Mangudadatu Aljah, who launched the tennis program in the province by building the Capitol Tennis Club, Gov. Suharto Mangudadatu Aljah and Vice Gov.Ernesto Matias.
