Game Seven draws 5 million viewers

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - TV5 scored high in the ratings game during its telecast of the exciting Game Seven of the 2015 PLDT Home DSL PBA Philippine Cup Finals between San Miguel Beer and Alaska.

The deciding match went down to the wire, keeping viewers at the edge of their seats until the very last second as the Beermen escaped with the close victory and claimed their 20th PBA title.

For the period 7 to 10 p.m., an average of close to 3.3 million viewers watched the pulsating game, propelling it to the Top 5 of the Primetime shows in the National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM).

At its peak in the fourth quarter, TV viewers rose to nearly 5 million or 11.5 percent AMR (average minute rating) and over 40 percent audience share.

Equally impressive was the gate attendance inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum, which reached a series-high of 22,511 fans.

“The biggest winner in the telecast was the PBA fan. Everyone was a witness to an epic Game 7 that had all the ingredients of drama, action and suspense. It was amazing to see that Filipinos really love a good basketball game,” Chot Reyes, head of Sports5, said.

The 40th Season of the PBA is presented by Sports5, the sports production arm of TV5.

Hardcourt battle resumed last night with the PLDT Home Telpad Commissioner’s Cup elimination round. You can catch the PBA on TV5 with simultaneous airing on AksyonTV. You can also listen to the games live via Radyo5 NEWSFM stations nationwide. LIVESTREAMING of the games is exclusively available only on Sports5.PH.

Cignal is also offering PBA in HD for it subscribers at an affordable price of PhP 299 for the entire conference. The offer is open to postpaid and prepaid subscribers. Log on to ww.Cignal.tv to order or visit your nearest Cignal dealer.
