Buyten struts stuff in Lanao International motocross

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte, Philippines – Matt Buyten of world-renowned Metal Mulisha moto team spiced up the action in the recent Lanao del Norte International Motocross Invitationals, dazzling the crowd with his FMX tricks and stunts in the Freestyle category at the sprawling Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) racetrack here.

Buyten, more popularly known as the “B-10 Bomber” in the Human Airshow scene, has successfully crossed over from bicycle motocross (BMX) to freestyle motocross (FMX). He has competed and earned medals in multiple X Games events, winning four gold, three silver, and three bronze medals in the Step Up competition.

In 2013, Buyten’s accomplishments drew attention from FMX’s leading brand Metal Mulisha, which signed him to become its newest member and endorser.

Lanao del Norte provincial government, in partnership with SEL-J Sports, has regularly hosted motocross events in its world-class Mindanao Civic Center sports complex. The province is recognized by both motocross organizers and riders as the “Motocross Capital of the Philippines.”

The latest motocross competition, graced by singer-actress Maja Salvador, drew more than 200 riders, who slugged it out in various categories, including the Beginner Production, Intermediate, 50 cc, 65cc, 85cc, Novice Open Production, Ladies, Underbone Novice, Underbone Open, Local Enduro, Executive A, Veterans, Pro Lites, Pro Open and International Pro.
