MANILA, Philippines - Unbeaten Judiciary hopes to come out strong after a long holiday break as it guns for a fourth straight win against Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) at resumption of the third UNTV Cup at the Makati Coliseum tomorrow.

Though already assured of a berth in the second round, the Magis are still expected to go for a win in their 3:30 p.m. encounter with the Black Wolves, who tote an even 1-1 card, in a Group B match.

The Magis needed the late-game heroics of former PBA player Don Camaso to repulse the hard-fighting NHA Builders, 100-96, before the break and stay unbeaten in the 11-team tournament organized by UNTV officials led by multi-awarded broadcaster Daniel Razon for Manila’s public servants.

The 6-foot-6 Camaso scored nine of his team-high 27 points in the payoff period. Aside from Camaso, also expected to deliver for the Magis are Ariel Capus and John Hall.

Defending champion Armed Forces of the Philippines, meanwhile, seeks to formalize its entry into the second round when it battles GSIS at 2 p.m. in another Group B encounter while Philippine National Police collides with Bureau of Fire Protection in the lone Group A match at 5 p.m.

AFP and PNP sport similar 2-1 records while MMDA and BFP have also identical 1-1 cards. GSIS totes a 1-2 mark.

Only the top four teams in each group will advance to the second with Group A having five teams while Group B is comprised of six teams. Malacañang leads Group A with a 3-0 mark.

The AFP Cavaliers rebounded from a stinging defeat to Judiciary last Dec. 3 by downing MMDA, 85-81.
