MANILA, Philippines -- The UCLA-bound Kobe Paras is excited to play for the LA Cathedral Phantoms this coming high school basketball season in California.

The 17-year old son of former PBA Rookie-MVP Benjie Paras sat out in the Phantoms' 81-70 win against Morse High School where their talented point guard Milan Acquaah exploded for 31 points to lead the team in Kobe's absence. He will re-join the team in their Dec. 18 game against Simi Valley in the San Fernando Valley Invitational Tournament.

In a tell-all interview posted on the Middlebrooks Basketball facebook fanpage, Kobe asks the fans to support the whole team. He is also scheduled to cook his specialty for the whole team next week. His favorite dish is his grandmother's recipe of Beef Salpicao but the 17-year old junior kept secret of the recipe that he will be cooking.
