D-League, NCAA volley rained out

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The PBA cancelled yesterday’s three-game schedule of the D-League Aspirants’ Cup due to Typhoon Ruby.

PBA commissioner Chito Salud made the announcement early Monday morning. The cancelled games would have pitted Bread Story vs Cebuana Lhuillier; Café France vs Hapee; and Cagayan Valley vs Racal Motors.

The new playdates will be announced in the next few days.

The Philippine Sportswriters Association has also called off its weekly PSA Forum today due to adverse weather condition.

The NCAA also cancelled the basketball, football and lawn tennis events.

Meanwhile, weather-permitting, NCAA Management Committee chair Paul Supan said volleyball matches will resume on Thursday with Arellano U taking on St. Benilde and Emilio Aguinaldo College battling Letran at The Arena.

Resumption of football and lawn tennis events, which are both staged at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, will be announced as soon as the weather improves.
