David winds up season with 2 major karting plums

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Formula-E Racing’s youngest recruit Zachary David further proved himself as the most important young kid discovery when he captured two major karting diadems this season.

First, the seven-year-old first grade student of Keys School Manila swept all the races in the last six legs of the 2014 Petron Blaze ROK Cup Super Karting Series to clinch the Formula Cadet Ultron crown and earn the perpetual trophy for the distinction as Cadet Karter of the Year.

Just recently, he swept all the races of the three-leg 2014 Asian Karting Open Championship Series to emerge the Asian Karting Formula cadet champion.

The diminutive budding ace stood a giant talent from among his batch as Formula-E Racing CEO and head coach Elson Carpio hinted Zach has the natural talent to achieve in a single season.

“When he first came, his parents related Zach’s love for cars at a very young age.  But as we went through the karting season, I noticed there’s something more beyond his love for cars that puts him at the top of his class.  I believe there’s more than just his pure natural talent that could be credited for his extraordinary feats on his debut season,” said Carpio.

“Though yet unproven, for all you know Zach may be one rare racing genius to have crossed our path,” he added.
