Report: Mayweather eyes two-thirds of revenue vs Pacquiao

AJ Bolando - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. lived up to his “Money” moniker as he insisted to get the lion's share of earnings when the much anticipated bout against Manny Pacquiao happens, according to a report.

Quoting a source close to Mayweather, Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated reported that the pound-for-pound king demanded to get two-thirds of the revenue from the fight.

But in the same report,  Top Rank chief Bob Arum denied the figure.

Arum is still negotiating with CBS to make the “richest boxing match in history” to happen. CBS is the mother company of Showtime, which holds the exclusive rights to air Mayweather's fights.

Last month, Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz revealed that they are willing to give the large portion of earings to Mayweather just to make the fight happen.

“We're not expecting to get the lion's share and if we have to give a little bit to get the fight, then we'll do it," Koncz said after Pacquiao routed Chris Algieri in Macau last November 23.
