Texters outlast Hotshots in OT

MANILA, Philippines – Talk n Text simply refused to lose in a dogfight with Purefoods Star, carving out a 100-96 win in overtime to safely make the Top Six later in the PBA Philippine Cup late Wednesday.

The Texters fought big plays for big play and big shots for big shots, and hacked out the win that assured them as well as idle Barangay Ginebra of a twice-to-beat incentive in the quarterfinals.

“It’s always tough to play Purefoods and so we’re happy we pulled through in this game,” said Talk n Text coach Jong Uichico. “They’re used to playing this kind of game. They keep their poise and they’re so disciplined. That’s why it’s hard to play Purefoods in a close game.”
