MANILA, Philippines - Streaking Jumbo Plastic shoots for its third straight win as it clashes with lowly Racal Motors while Cebuana Lhuillier and AMA University try to enhance their bid at each other’s expense in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City today.

Coming off victories over Wangs Basketball and MP Hotel that put them at joint third with Café France at 4-1, the Giants are favored to roll past the Racal Motors side in their 12 noon encounter as they gear up for the playoffs.

“Every game counts. So it’s important for us to win games that we are supposed to win,” said Jumbo Plastic coach Stevenson Tiu.

While saying experience should work in their favor, Tiu cautioned his wards that the Alibaba are no pushovers.

“They’re no longer school-based team. They may still have some issues chemistry wise but that should not be a problem for coach Caloy (Garcia). His PBA experience should serve him in good stead,” Tiu said.

Bread Story-LPU and AMA University, coached by Mark Herrera, collide at 2 p.m. with both teams out to even their card at 3-3.

Cebuana Lhuillier also goes for its third win in six games as it takes on MJM Builders at 4 p.m.

Unbeaten Hapee continues to show the way with five wins while Cagayan Valley is just right behind with a 4-0 card with the duo all set to nail the two outright berths in the semis.

Despite injuries to forward Jan Colina (shoulder) and McLean Sabellina (fractured finger) and the loss of guards Brian Heruela and Janus Lozada on various reasons, the Giants remain on the winning track behind their second unit.
