Siargao remains unbeaten, trips FEU

MANILA, Philippines - Siargao Legends, backstopped by former PBA stars, upended FEU-NRMF, 78-70, in a duel of unbeaten teams to wrest the solo lead in Group B in the fourth DELeague basketball tournament at the Marikina Sports Center, Marikina City Sunday night.

Charles Mammie dished out a double-double job of 10 points and 11 rebounds and came through with three blocks while former PBA stalwarts Marlou Aquino, Leo Najorda, Celino Cruz and Willie Miller combined for 24 points for the Legends, who notched their third straight win in the league supported by Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman.

Edwin Asoro led the Tamaraws with 22 markers.

In the other game, Uratex Foam outplayed Kawasaki Marikina, 95-77, for its second victory in four games in Group A.

JC Po and Von Tambeling scored 20 and 15 points, respectively, for Uratex while Ronald Roy led Kawasaki-Marikina with 21 points and three rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sta. Lucia Land, Inc. routed Philippine National Police, 106-64, while Sealions tripped Team Mercenary, 97-90, last Saturday in the league sponsored by PCA Marivalley, St. Anthony Hospital, PS Bank Blue Wave Marquinton Branch, Luyong Restaurant Concepcion, Mckie’s Equipment Sales and Rental, and Tutor 911.

Richard Smith topscored for Sta. Lucia with 14 points while Feymi Babeyemi led the Sealions with 23 points and seven rebounds.
