Bradley dismisses Algieri’s speed
MANILA, Philippines – Former WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, one of the few fighters who defeated Manny Pacquiao, had a good laugh courtesy of Chris Algieri.
In a promotional video released by Top Rank to drum up Sunday’s Pacquiao-Algieri clash in Macau, Bradley was sought for a reaction to Algieri’s claim of speed.

In the video, Algieri can be seen talking to reporters defending himself as a fast fighter who’s capable of keeping up with Pacquiao, a fiery southpaw known for his blazing hand speed and footwork.
“Brandon Rios made Pacquiao look fast and then when you put Tim, you know, Manny looked fast but not as fast,” the undefeated American explained, referencing Pacquiao’s past fights with Brandon Rios and Bradley.
Algieri then insisted he’s faster than Bradley, who in 2012 upset Pacquiao then lost to the Filipino in their rematch two years later.
“Tim is not really known as a fast guy. But I am. Speed is a relative thing,” he continued.
The remark made Bradley, as a slick boxer, laugh.
“Did he just say he's faster than me? Oh my gosh! That hilarious,” said Bradley, who took Algieri’s comment in jest instead of getting insulted.
The fighter known as “The Desert Storm” managed to survive Pacquiao and won a controversial decision in June 2012 to take the WBO welterweight championship. He again went the distance with the Filipino in their rematch in April this year, but lost via unanimous decision as Pacquiao regained the title.
Bradley, however, had his moments against Pacquiao with his slick style and movement.
“He’s (Algieri) gonna learn November 23 what fast is all about. Manny Pacquiao, lightning-fast feet, reflexes, angles, he's (Algieri) gonna see what that's like. He definitely is. Good luck to him,” Bradley, who seemed unable to believe Algieri’s claim, told the interviewer.
“He's faster than me? Really? Are you serious? Algieri's faster than me? Come on man. You gotta be kidding me, man,” he added.
“He's taller, but not faster.”
