2:45 p.m. – Systema vs IEM (for crown)

MANILA, Philippines - Winning the first-ever Shakey’s V-League men’s crown will be enough motivation for Systema Tooth and Gum Care and Instituto Estetico Manila to go all-out in their rubber match today, guaranteeing a slambang duel at The Arena in San Juan.

The match, set at 2:45 p.m., will also serve as a fitting ending to another banner Shakey’s V-League Season 11 that saw Far Eastern U bag the First Conference crown, Army the Open Conference and Cagayan Valley the Reinforced crown last week.

One only has to look at the scorelines of the first two games of the best-of-three title series to have a grasp of what’s in store in the Systema-IEM showdown to be shown live on GMA News TV Channel.

The Active Smashers fought back from two sets down to sweep the next three for an improbable 21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 16-14 victory in the opener two weeks ago. But the Volley Masters rebounded strong from 1-2 set down by winning the last two, 19-25, 25-19, 13-25, 25-21, 15-13, in Game Two last week to force a sudden death for the crown of the season-ending conference of the league sponsored by Shakey’s and backed by Mikasa and Accel.

Meanwhile, Far Eastern U and Rizal Technological University dispute third place honors, also in sudden death, at 12:45 p.m. Both matches can be viewed live via streaming on www.v-league.ph, according to the organizing Sports Vision.
