MANILA, Philippines -- Three more Filipino fighters were added to the already stacked ONE FC: Warriors's Way at the Mall of Asia Arena on December 5.
Filipino fan favorite Eduard Folayang will return to the octagon even as Fil-American Ana Julaton will try to bounce back from a setback while former Wushu SEA Games and Asian Games gold medalist Rene Catalan is hoping to win his first MMA fight at home.
“ONE Fighting Championship has taken over Asia this year with blockbuster shows all over the continent! ONE FC will return to Manila with one of our most stacked cards to date and the night will feature three martial arts champions from the Philippines," ONE FC CEO Victor Cui in a press statement released to media outlets on Thursday.
Folayang, a winner of his last two fights, will take on streaking Russian lightweight Timofey Nastyukhin, who is on a nine-fight winning streak. The Team Lakay member will ride on the momentum of his victories over Vincent Latoel and the former ONE FC Lightweight World Champion Kotetsu Boku.
Julaton, meanwhile, is raring to get back into the win column after absorbing her first MMA loss at the hands of Malaysian Ann Osman in Dubai last August. She will be pitted against Walaa Abbas, a national Egyptian kickboxing champion. Abbas will be looking to avenge the loss of her teammate Aya Saied Saber to Julaton, a former WBO and IBA Super Bantamweight champion, in her ONE FC debut in Manila last year.
Catalan will have to fight off rust after a one year inactivity. He will have his hands full against Muay Thai world champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, who won his last two fights via submission.
Six Filipino fighters are now scheduled to fight in what is the most stacked fight card of the ONE FC to date. Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario will also see action along with Fil-American Brandon Vera, who will debut in the Asia's largest MMA organization after parting ways with Ultimate Fighting Championship earlier this year.
