Hopkins, who will turn 50 in two months, is trying to become the oldest champion. Sporting a record of 55-6-2, with 32 knockouts, he will be staking his WBA and IBF light heavyweight belts in the unification fight against the unbeaten Kovalev.

Hopkins’ last bout came in April when he outpointed Beibut Shumenov and successfully defended his two titles.

Kovalev, with a record of 25 wins and a draw with 23 knockouts, is a tough opponent for the future Hall of Famer. He is bringing his WBO title to the ring and is expected to use his extensive amateur background.
