PLDT Home Telpad outlasts Meralco, nears 3rd place

MANILA, Philippines -- PLDT Home Telpad leaned on Gretchel Soltones and Suzanne Roces as it outlasted Meralco with a marathon 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 15-11 win Tuesday night to move one win closer to snaring third place in the Shakey's V-League Season 11-Third Conference at The Arean in San Juan City.

Soltones pounded her way to 23 hits including 20 off kills while Roces unloaded 19 of her 21 hits on kills to carry the Turbo Boosters to the win and a win away from clinching the third place trophy.

Power-hitting Angela Benting chipped in seven but her kill in the fifth and final set sealed the deal.
