The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Chiang Kai Shek College held a unity walk from the Lapu-Lapu Shrine in Luneta to the school’s main campus in Tondo last Sunday as part of its 75th anniversary celebrations.

The event, which showcased the school’s solidarity and years of excellence, was participated in by its students, alumni, parents and faculty.

By walking to their alma mater, the people of CKSC symbolically converged at their second home in line with this year’s theme – “One Vision, One Dream.”

Members of the CKSC wushu team, its PEP squad and drummers also performed while the traditional dragon dance and group exercises were also staged.

Gracing the event were Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, CKSC president Dr. Dory Poa, BOT chairman Allen Roxas, and CKSCAA president Philip Chan.

Among CKSC’s notable alumni are some of the most successful Taipans of Philippine business, including SM’s Henry Sy, Philippine Airline’s Lucio Tan, Metrobank’s George Ty, Jollibee’s Tony Tancaktiong, and Oishi’s Carlos Chan.

The college is also known for having produced 29 topnotchers in licensure exams the past four years. Today, the school offers pre-school, grade school, high school, college, and masters courses. It also has a School of Music and a Language Center.
