SWU routs USC, claims CESAFI title
MANILA, Philippines - Southwestern University dominated University of San Carlos, 64-49, to capture the 2014 CESAFI crown and emerge as the Champions League (PCCL) Over-All Southern Islands champion last Sunday.
Macmac Tallo, the SWU Cobras top gun, was later named the Finals Most Valuable Player.
The Cobras, handled by coach Yayoy Alcoseba, shackled the USC cagers with a swarming defense to post the biggest winning margin in the championship series.
SWU also made history by winning the Overall Southern Islands for the second straight year.
Both the USC Warriors and SWU Cobras are already in the Elite Eight phase of Champions League (PCCL) 2014 National Collegiate Championship.
Joining them are newly crowned UAAP champion National University, UAAP runner-up Far Eastern U, NCAA finalists San Beda College and Arellano U and Vis-Min qualifier University of Visayas.
One seat is reserved for the Luzon-Metro Manila qualifier.

The South Luzon-Bicol games will be held on Nov. 3-4 at J.C. Lobredo Coliseum, Naga City with the champion teams from Sorsogon, Quezon province, Naga, Tabaco, Batangas, Cavite and Laguna taking part.
