Nat’l dancesport draws over 330

MANILA, Philippines - More than 330 dancesports athletes participated yesterday in the DanceSport Council of the Philippines (DSCPI) 18th DSCPI National Championships at the Philsports Multi-Purpose Arena (Ultra), Pasig City.  

DanceSport competed for ranking in the event supported by Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Flawless, Vitug Beach Resort, Retro DCG-FM 105.9, Philippine Orthopedic Institute,Studio 116, Studio AK, Caruso RistoranteItaliano and The Greenery Bulacan.

Seven World DanceSport Federation licensed adjudicators – Gianita Bigazzi from Italy, Mok Chi Keung (Hong Kong), Fujii Masaki (Japan), Boon Lan “Ivy” Por (Malaysia), Algernon Tan (Singapore), Gloria Alcala (Philippines) and Lubos Novotny (chairman) – adjudicated the competition with the help of Philippine adjudicators Edgardo Borromeo, Michael Mendoza, Maira Bernales, Filomena Salvador and Evaristo “Jun” Borja.

The DSCPI board is composed of Noel Laman  (chairman),  Andy Fornier (secretary general), Emma Nieto (asst. SecGen and sports director), Gloria Alcala (treasurer) and directors  Marvie Cojuangco-Yulo, Ambassador Antonio Lagdameo, Edward Hayco, Chona Mercado, Nanette Mendoza, Rebecca Jose, Manuel Yan, Marge Vitug, Girme Gutierrez and Alejandro Herrera.
