DC skater rules world tourney

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - DC skater Nyjah Huston recently won the 2014 SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Together with some of the most talented skate pros in the world – Shane O’Neill, Torey Pudwill, Ishod Wair, Chaz Ortiz, Paul Rodriguez, Luan Oliveira, Matt Berger – Huston engaged in non-stop, topsy-turvy leaderboard battle for supremacy. Nyjah’s consistent high scores and down-to-the-wire final trick – a solid Caballerial kickflip – ultimately sealed the crown and solidified his legacy as one of the world’s greatest street skaters of all time.

A dominant competitor since the SLS inception in 2010, the 20-year-old DC skater made history with his undefeated 2014 Season – with first place victories in Tampa Pro, XGames Austin to all four SLS World Tour events.  Huston’s career highlights also include winning his second consecutive Best Male Action Sports Athlete award in the recent ESPYS 2014 held at Huntington Beach in California.

Huston’s latest pro model shoe with DC Shoes, the Nyjah Vulc, has proven to be his good luck charm this season.  Since its release last June 17, he has not lost a major contest.  Designed for comfort and durability during high-impact skating, Huston’s signature DC shoe now sports a vulcanized construction offering more flexibility and great board feel.

Founded in 1994, DC quickly grew to be a leader in performance skateboarding shoes and a renowned action sports brand. Today DC Shoes includes men’s, women’s and kids’ skateboarding and lifestyle shoes, apparel, snowboards, snowboard boots, outerwear and accessories.
