Benibe, Trasmonte duel in URCC tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Three explosive matches, including the much-awaited title fight between Andrew Benibe and Raysaldo Trasmonte for the vacant bantamweight crown, highlight the return of the University Reality Combat Championship (URCC) card on Oct. 23 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

“After a long absence, it’s just fitting that we stage these matches which we hope will quench their thirst of MMA fans for intense action,” said URCC president Alvin Aguilar. “We owe our success to our fans so we are putting up a big show for them after almost a break of 10 months.”

Founded by Aguilar, URCC has established itself as the country’s longest-running and biggest MMA promotion, having staged numerous blockbuster events through the years involving prominent fighters.

Dubbed as URCC-Colt 45 25Takeover, the event, held in partnership with Colt 45, will also feature the two light heavyweight fights pitting Caloy “Bad Boy” Baduria against Mark Palomar and Fil-Swiss Chris Hofmann against Nickson Kola of Papua New Guinea.

These two matches alone, Aguilar said, are likely to go the distance owing to their impressive credentials. Both Baduria and Hofmann are enjoying the support of many young fans for their fighting techniques.
