Russian IM to hold simul matches

MANILA, Philippines - Russian IM Nikolay Andrianov will hold simul exhibition matches with enrolees of the Milo Checkmate classes on Saturday at Starmall Edsa Shaw (2F Event Area) in Mandaluyong City.

The simul, set from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., serves as part of the Milo Checkmate year-round program sponsored by Milo, the country’s No. 1 energy drink.

Medals will be awarded to those who will win or draw. Participants are required to bring their own sets.

Andrianov has served as consultant of the Checkmate program since 2000. At age 15, he was the Junior Champion of Ukraine; and has coached/trained seven world champions. Meanwhile, the Milo Checkmate weekend chess clinics are on-going at San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila; Sacred Heart Academy of Novaliches; Starmall Edsa Shaw; Grace Christian College and in Sucat, Parañaque.
