UE spikers sweep way to UAAP finals

MANILA, Philippines - University of the East dominated the field in the elims of UAAP Season 77 boys’ volleyball as the Junior Warriors swept La Salle-Zobel, 25-15, 25-16, 25-11, to clinch an outright finals berth at the Adamson gym over the weekend.

By competing a 12-game sweep of the eliminations, “11-peat-seeking” UE will go into the title round with a thrice-to-beat advantage.

National University, meanwhile, trounced Far Eastern University-Diliman, 25-5, 25-13, 25-13, to finish No. 1 in the girls’ side with a 11-1 record. NU will take on Adamson University in the Final Four starting Saturday.

The Junior Lady Falcons defeated the Junior Lady Warriors, 25-21, 25-21, 17-25, 18-25, 15-7, in a playoff for the last semis slot.
