UP's rainbow flag a game changer in UAAP cheerdance tiff

MANILA, Philippines – Setting competition aside and pushing forward UP's advocacy, UP Babaylan's flag symbolizing equality was passed around the audience at the Araneta Coliseum during the UP Pep Squad's performance in the 2014 UAAP Cheerdance Competition Sunday.

Upholding their campaign for equality, the Fighting Maroons executed the strongest display of equality by having their female pep squad members lift their male counterparts. It was an event that put everyone in awe.

In the end, the National University retained the title, garnering 677.5 points, while UP got 658 points to become first runner-up. Meanwhile, University of Santo Tomas returns to the podium after four years with 625 points.
