Ace riders seek crucial wins at BRC tracks

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Two-wheel racing goes into high gear as ace riders gun for crucial wins to boost their title chances when the 2014 Motorsports Championship Season stages the fifth legs of the 2014 Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series, 2014 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series and 2014 FDR Underbone King Championship Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Following his impressive win in the last leg, Marvin Mangulabnan hopes to steal the limelight anew from the much-talked about rivalry between Aprilia teammate and defending champion Dashi Watanabe and Ducati’s Raniel Resuello as he seeks his back-to-back triumph in the 2014 Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series which is part of the 2014 Motorsports Championship Season presented by Petronas.

The event is sanctioned by the Superbikes Racing Association (SBRA) and sponsored by Petronas and media partners Racing Beat @ Wave 89.1, Inside Motoring @ DZRJ810khz and Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ DZME 1530.

Masato Fernando eyes his third straight win in the 2014 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series while John Emerson Inguito seeks a repeat of his feat in the 2014 FDR Underbone King Championship Series which are both sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooters Racing Association (USRA).

Equally exciting is the expected three-way intense battle among Clint Nolasco, Jevis Aguila and TJ Alberto in the 2014 Pirelli Motorad Superbikes Cup, a junior league for promising Superbikes riders.

Spicing up the day are  the equally  heart-stopping encounters in the Moto IR, Alpinestars Cup, Honda Dash, Honda Beat One Make Race, MTRT Club Race and the MTRT Club Race 115cc Scooter.

Mangulabnan, the No.2 man in Aprilia’s deep bench of equally strong title contenders, finally came out of his shell as he pulled off the big win that installed him as the third equally strong contender who’ll break the monotony of the Watanabe-Resuello rivalry for the title.

Another win makes him a threat to Resuello for the overall runner-up crown.

He could emerge the biggest threat to Watanabe’s back-to-back title quest if he rules the last two rounds and Watanabe suffers the same dismal performances he made in Rounds 1 and 3.

But Watanabe seeks to bounce back while Resuello is equally hungry to score a victory for Ducati, thus making this race even more exciting.

Joining them in the grid are Anthony Roman, Johnlery Enriquez,  Ducati’s Jussi Hoikka, Jericho Arnaiz, TJ Albert and  Lawrence Macalinao.
