Palawan Pawnshop big boost to tennis

MANILA, Philippines - With 15 legs wrapped up and a number more lined up for the rest of the season, the nationwide Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Padala regional age-group tennis circuit has continued to boost the sport while providing the country’s top and upcoming junior players the kind of tournaments needed to hone up their skills and talent.

From Los Baños to Bohol, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Puerto Princesa to as far south as Davao, Digos City and Sultan Kudarat, the annual year-long circuit has produced a number of future stars while drawing huge participation in all legs, including the out-of-school youths.

“This nationwide circuit program is part of our long-term commitment to promote sports as one of the primary focus of our corporate social responsibility and at the same time discover talents who could be trained and developed to become members of future national team,” said Palawan Pawnshop COO Bobby Castro.

Digos City’s Jyle Cyrin Martinez, Davao’s Shaira Rivera and Puerto Princesa’s Alexie Santos are but three of a slew of young guns tipped to make it big someday following their impressive performances in various legs of the circuit with many more ready and raring to shine from the 10-unisex, 12-, 14-, 16- and 18-and-under sections in both the boys’ and girls’ sides.
