UE lifters rule national competitions

MANILA, Philippines - The University of the East (UE) made its presence felt in the national weightlifting scene with wins in separate competitions recently in Marikina and Imus.

The team won 21 medals –  12 gold, seven silver and two bronze medals –  in the National 5-in-1 Powerlifting Championships held Aug. 2-3, at the Robinsons Mall in Imus.

Coach Edmundo Jose Cardano and Ranvijay Brar also received gold medals in the Open Division.

Coach Cardano also received a trophy for first place in both Men’s Master 1 and Open Division.
