S’woods seniors trimester golf up storys

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Around 60 golfing seniors brace for another spirited but friendly duel for top honors when the Seniors Trimester Birthday Bash golf tournament 2014 presented by Megafiber and Goutritis is held Aug. 12 at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club’s Masters Course in Carmona, Cavite.

Mario Badillo nipped Butch Brodett for the Class A crown, Nick Molon repulsed Hisashi Momota to claim the Class B plum, while Ed Guevarra edged Frank Basilio in the countback to snatch the Class C diadem in the last Seniors Trimester tournament last April.

Badillo, Molon and Guevarra all hope to make it back-to-back in their respective divisions but the troika will have their hands full to score a repeat with the rest raring to foil their bids in the 18-hole tournament presented by Megafiber Psyllium Fiber and Goutritis Herbal Supplement.

Registration starts at 6 a.m. on Tuesday with the shot-gun start tee-off set at 8 a.m., according to the organizing Manila Southwoods Seniors Chapter headed by president/tournament chairman Francisco Gonzalez and vice president Rod Pepito.

The event, backed by hole-in-one sponsor Wilson Sports, is open to senior chapter members and their guests aged 55-years-old-and-above.

Other hole sponsors are Am-Europharma/Surechoice, Asia Pacific Golf Corp., Camp John Hay Golf Club, Red Eagle Lending Investors Corp., Resorts World Manila, Romago, Inc., Rudy Project Phils., Tocoms Phils., Warbird Security, Foodenizer, Inc. and Investigation Agency, Sherwood Hills and Boracay Sands Hotel.
