Titans, Cubs seize control in Martin Cup

MANILA, Philippines - Enderun College trounced Letran-A, 68-58, to snap a two-game skid in seniors play while UST edged San Benildo, 63-61, in juniors division of the 12th Fr. Martin Cup Division 2 basketball tournament at San Beda gym in Mendiola over the weekend.

Mark Gatdula and Errol Villar combined for 34 points as the Titans pulled away in the second half to frustrate the Knights and notch their first win in three games in Group A.

Clark Ballada hit two pressure-packed charities in the last 8.7 seconds to lift the Tiger Cubs past the San Benildo cagers in the tournament backed by Bauerfeind health care products. Ballada finished with 14 points while Brian Lacap topscored with 24 points.

In other senior games, the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the National University Bulldogs beat their respective rivals to post their second straight victories.
