MANILA, Philippines -- Gilas Pilipinas has just wrapped its second day of training camp ni Miami, Florida where new naturalized center Andray Blatche joined the team for the first time.
Blatche, who owns a house at South Beach, is reportedly impressive at practice with his dribbling and passing skills in full display.
LA Tenorio summed up the first couple of days in their US training camp as getting back into the scheme of international basketball.
"Today, we've learned to unlearn our habits from the PBA and got to learn new habits that are fit for international basketball," Tenorio told Sports5's crew who accompanied the team to document their trip.
Beau Belga, Rain or Shine's burly slotman, also joked about lifting weights as part of their intensive training camp.
"Hindi kami sanay mag-weights kasi walang weights sa Rain or Shine. Right, Gabe [Norwood]? We only do weights if we want," Belga said in jest during one of the light moments in the training camp.
Gilas will also take on the University of Miami in a scrimmage during the camp and are expecting a visit from Filipino-American coach Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat.
